Salvation For All

This post was written by my cousin Edward Jeffries, several years ago, prior to his going to receive his Heavenly reward.

Isaiah 49:6 Indeed He says, it is too small a thing that You should be My Servant. To rise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You as a light to the gentiles, that You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.

Light to the Gentiles” The Servant fulfilled the call of Abraham (Genesis 12:1-3) and the nation of Israel (exodus 19:5-6), to be a blessing to other nations. After Jesus’ death and resurrection, the great commission of global evangelism is carried on by His apostles (Acts 13:14; 26:23) and those who succeed them to the end of the age (Matthew 28:18-20).

Brothers and sisters, God sent Jesus not only as the long awaited Messiah to the Jews but also as Savior to the entire world. The Jews struggled to recognize the Messiah because He did not come as they expected. Jesus did come as God prophesied. The Old Testament is filled with descriptions and details of the coming Savior.

In Isaiah 49 God describes the plan to send His Servant to draw people to Himself. He also declared that His provision wasn’t limited to the Israelites; The Savior would come for all earth’s inhabitants.

God’s promised provisions of a Savior to both Jews and Gentiles is the best news our world has ever known. You and I like the Jews, may sometimes miss Him due to our human expectations. You and I can rest assured His Word is true, His provision and salvation can be ours, and His love for us is unconditional and limitless!

Brothers and sisters, turn your eyes upon Jesus today and rejoice that God’s Servant came for you.

Accept Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, today. Today is the day of salvation. Now is the accepted time. You may not really have tomorrow. Salvation is a free gift. Have a Blessed Day.
