Gospel Nuggets

Many are called, but few are chosen. This is why each of us needs to ensure with all certainty, through prayer, faithfulness, and supplication to make our calling and election sure.

The men of the early church were gun-ho about this, because they saw a clear vision, and had a chance to escape from under the tyranny of the corrupt kingdom that they were living under; And to come under a perfect utopian kingdom…The kingdom of God.

The disciples saw Jesus doing a lot of prayer, and asked the Lord to teach them to pray: And Jesus responded by teaching them the Lord’s Prayer.

We need the kingdom in us. When the Lord instructs us to seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness. The kingdom has a “His righteousness”, because in order to have a kingdom there must be a King.

The key thing to keep in mind is that while Jesus died for all of the world, everyone will not choose to receive the gift of salvation. There are so many church leaders who get discouraged because their congregation is very small, while other people outside the four walls are carrying on with their lives, with no regard for the state of their eternal destiny. Jesus wanted us to know that broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there be that go that way. He goes on to inform us that, Narrow is the way, and strait is the gate that leads to eternal life; And few there be that find it.(Matthew 7:13-14) He also tells us that, that which is highly esteemed among men is an abomination to the Lord.(Luke 16:15) Based upon our flawed human understanding, it may have seemed that Jesus was talking contrary, however He always knew exactly what He was saying.

Jesus tells us later on, think not that I come to send peace, but I’m a sword to set at variance even in a household: father against children, children against father, etc…(Matthew 10:34-36) In other words, what Jesus is saying here is that when a person receives salvation, there will be such a great difference in their lifestyle and the lifestyle of their unsaved loved ones that it will seem like a war.

So those who belong to Jesus, He knows them; And we will get to know whether He knows us or not, because He said in the last days some people will come to Him saying, “Lord, Lord, we prophesied in Your name, we cast out devils in Your name, we’ve done so much in Your name; And He will say to them, “I never knew you.”(Matthew 7:21-23) When He says this, it doesn’t mean that the Lord doesn’t know who these people are, and what they’ve been doing; When the Lord says this, He will be referring to the fact that these people never entered into His kingdom family by repenting of their sins and choosing to truly receive Him into their hearts.

Many have received the sound, but who will believe the report of the Lord. The Gospel is currently being shared in so many different ways: Sunday morning worship services, missionaries visiting various countries, TV, radio, Internet Podcasts, Blogs, etc… During the biblical days, the Jews were so busy doing their own thing, until they missed it. The prophets foretold that the Messiah would come, but the religious leaders still missed it when He arrived on the scene.

The foundation that we are building on today, is the prophets, apostles, and most importantly the chief cornerstone…Jesus Christ. The Gospel that we preach is about Jesus Christ: What He said, What He did, what He’s promised.

Now we know that many are the afflictions of the righteous, which means that when we choose to follow Jesus, we will face persecution. The Lord warns us that we will be hated by all nations for His namesake.(Matthew 10:22) Our society has become so polluted that the devil’s main aim is to discredit everything that we’ve ever believed. In fact, some preachers are even trying to create another Gospel. I want to serve notice that THERE IS NO OTHER GOSPEL. The Word reads, “If any man preach any other Gospel, let him be accursed.”( Galatians 1:8-9)

Now people want to think that we are narrow minded when we say that there is only one way to God, but that’s the truth of the Bible. That’s the truth of the Gospel. There are not two ways. It is not the way that you choose, that you think is better than the other way. The right way, The only way is the way of Jesus Christ. This is the way by which we can become the Lord’s adopted sons and daughters. This is the way that we can be filled with His Holy Spirit, to reverence and serve God.

The Lord will supply all of our needs, as long as we have needs.

The most important need a person can have is the need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. If you do not know Jesus as your Savior and Lord, I invite you to receive Him by praying for salvation in your own words, or by praying and truly believing the prayer below:

PRAYER OF SALVATION:
Lord, I acknowledge that I have sinned against You. I now ask You to forgive me of my actions. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins, and rose again on the third day, so that I could have eternal life. I now invite Jesus to come into my heart, and guide my life from this day forward. I thank You, Jesus for saving me.

When we accept salvation, God saves us immediately, and makes us fit for entrance into Heaven, however some changes God will empower you to make easily, while making other changes will be a process that may take months or even years to make. Regardless of your situation, I assure you that the Lord loves you more than you could ever comprehend, and He will be with you every step of the way. Pray, study God’s Word and ask Him to give you revelation of what you are reading. I also pray that the Lord will direct you to a true Bible teaching, Jesus loving church, where you can have the support of other believers.

  1. Hi, and good mornin to you Marques.

Your article had a lot of good stuff in it, but there is one part that I want to bring to your attention that needs correction my friend…

“these people never entered into His kingdom family by repenting of their sins and choosing to truly receive Him into their hearts.”

The people who Jesus was referencing in that verse were trusting in their works, their (repentance of their sins). That trust (is the broad road) that leads to destruction.

While we Christians have a lifelong battle against the sin of our flesh.

The repentance of salvation looks like this…

“Lord, I am sin, and my trying to turn from my sins to be accepted by you is grossly inadequate.
I have nothing but neediness to bring to You.
    Please rescue me.”

Putting ZERO stock in anything we do (including our pathetic attempts at repenting of our sins perfectly). Which perfection is the requirement for justification before God.

Perfection is very easily attained however, (the narrow road)…
By receiving Jesus’ perfection entirely as a free gift, (Romans 5.15-20).

I know that I was a little long winded, but I just wanted to make sure that I was communicating effectively.

    Think about it buddy. 🙂🙏

    1. Hi, Lee, Thanks for commenting dear brother.

I completely agree with the definition of repentance that you provided in your recent post as follows:

“You see, every single person who gets saved (without exception) “repents” and believes the gospel. Because when someone gets saved (for real), they change their mind/trust from something, >>> to something else.
When someone gets saved, it looks like this…
We recognize that we are guilty hellbound sinners, with no personal merit whatsoever to fix our dire situation. So we thus abandon our worthless self righteousness/false religion.
{Having turned our trust away from ourselves >>> we then turn our trust to the risen Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior}.
And we call upon Him to save us, as our only way of receiving forgiveness and righteousness. [Receiving the Lord Jesus Christ’s forgiveness and righteousness ENTIRELY as a “FREE GIFT“ to us by grace through faith, (Ref. Romans chapter 4, Romans 5.15-20, & Ephesians 2.8,9)].”

Yes, it truly is pride, self-righteousness, self-reliance, self-glorification, etc.. that will keep many men and women from entering into God’s kingdom.

Arrogant, Self-Exalting Pride is what got Lucifer kicked out of Heaven, and it is what will keep many people from entering in.

For us to truly know Jesus, and for Him to truly know us, we must approach Him with the humility that you mentioned in the quote I shared above.

      1. Hi brother, I thank you for your at least listening to what I was trying to say.

There was a little more to that quote of mine that you kindly shared that completed that quote from my post on repentance…

“We know that we have nothing of value whatsoever that we can contribute to our justification before God. Especially our grossly inadequate efforts at our repenting of our sins (where our justification before God is concerned). Which would be in reality, trusting in what we have done, and not in what Jesus has done.

That is what it means for someone to “repent and believe the gospel.”
[A sinner is cleansed of his or her sins only by the Lord Jesus Christ’s shed-blood, …NOT by his or her imperfect efforts at resisting sin].”

That final segment of my statement from my article needs to be included, otherwise, my quote is incomplete.

And once again, I am thankful for your kindness, and for you considering what I shared. 🙂🙏

    1. It is not god’s will that anyone should perish, which is why He sent Jesus to die on the cross for everyone. For this reason God calls all of us(many) to salvation.

The sad truth is that Jesus is fully aware that the majority of people will, of their own free will choose to reject salvation, and thereby take the broad and wide road to the lake of fire and brimstone.

While there will be a lot of people, throughout the ages who do choose salvation, they will be “the faithful few” chosen to enter Heaven.

Each of us has a choice that we must make, while theire is yet breath in our body. I have placed my faith and trust in Jesus Christ, and desire to be in the “faithful few” to enter His kingdom. This is also my prayer for other people, that as many who will would receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

  3. Yes I always think of the 144,000 in Revelations and how God chose us not the other way around. We do not know the specific people so we are called to spread His Gospel to all and the chosen ones will be open to hear.
