Believe

This post was written by my cousin, Clarissa Lee.

Believe is such a powerful word, because that is what we, who have placed our faith in Jesus Christ’s finished work at the cross, had to do.

First, we had to hear the Word. Then, we had to believe what we heard. And then once we BELIEVED, we RECEIVED what Jesus did for us.

We use that word everyday:

To sit down in a chair. We have to BELIEVE that the chair will hold us.
To get into a car and go places, we have to BELIEVE that the car will start and take us where we need to go.

So if we believe for those little simple things, why is it so hard for many people to BELIEVE that Jesus loves them; And that He died for them?

I encourage you to use that same BELIEF you have in natural things for spiritual things…And watch the Heavenly Father move in your life.

Therefore we are so thankful that we can come boldly to Jesus and ask, because Jesus makes the impossible possible, so believe upon Him today.

If you are reading this and do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, I would like to extend this invitation to you to receive the gift of salvation today. You can do so by praying and truly believing the prayer below, or by praying to God in your own Words.

PRAYER:
God,
I confess that I have sinned against You, and I know that there is nothing I can do by my own efforts to change my condition. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood and died on the cross for my sins; And that He rose from the grave on the Third Day to grant me eternal life. I know You love me, God, and I love You. I place my faith and trust only in You to conform my heart to Your will; And to order my steps everyday, from this day forward. Thank You , Lord, for saving me.

When we accept salvation, God saves us immediately, and makes us fit for entrance into Heaven, however some changes God will empower you to make easily, while making other changes will be a process that may take months or even years to make. Regardless of your situation, I assure you that the Lord loves you more than you could ever comprehend, and He will be with you every step of the way.

Pray, study God’s Word and ask Him to give you revelation of what you are reading. I also pray that the Lord will direct you to a true Bible teaching, Jesus loving church, where you can have the support of other believers.

    1. Hi, Daniel

Believe and faith are used interchangeably in my cousin’s post.

I don’t want my comment to get too long here, so I am providing a link that will help explain the difference between Believe/Faith and mental assent.

It is important that I add that mental assent WILL NOT be effective for anyone who truly wants to live a victorious Christian life as a “born again” believer. (See my post below for more details.)

    1. Thanks so much, Mrs. oneta. I am so grateful for the opportunity that God has granted we who serve Him to share our faith here on WordPress. We will never truly know the impact our words have had on others until we reach Heaven.

Continue to stand strong for Jesus Christ until He calls us all home to be with Him.
