Where Are You Looking?

Psalm 121
1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

We are living in a time where all of us are looking for something. We’re looking for help, in some shape or fashion. People are looking to their family, friends, the government, coworkers. Some people are seeking help, because they desire a spouse. Others are looking for help, because they want a new house. Others desire a job, While others are looking for healing from an infirmity. And on-and-on. But my question today is: Where are you looking?

Many people are looking for help in the wrong places, or from the wrong persons. Sometimes when we find someone to help us, that other person may say, “I’ll help you, but I need you to pay me back or return the favor.” And that’s fine, because if you borrow from another person, with the understanding that you will pay them back, you should be true to your agreement.

Where are you looking? For your help? Its time to go back to the Source; And that Source is God.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help What is the hill? It is that center place of worship

Help – (Dictionary definition)to make it easy for someone to do something; to serve

For example, if something occurred with us in the pool or beach, we’d cry out to a lifeguard for help.

But the help that I’m talking about today is the help that comes from the Lord, who made Heaven and earth. God is the Creator of all the natural world we see around us; And He is also its guardian and caretaker. Meaning God is our protector, provider, shield, and line of defense. We may have an awesome military, here in the U.S., but our military cannot match the protection that God supplies.

Whenever we truly need something, God is our provider. Whenever the heat of life begins to beatdown upon us, God is our shade.

God will not slumber. He doesn’t sleep. God will take care of you and I; And preserve us. He’s got His eyes upon us, 24/7…constantly showing His grace and mercy.

God doesn’t promise us that evil won’t show up or that bad things won’t occur in our life, but He does promise to be with us even in the midst of trouble.

Sometimes when we look to people, they will talk bad about us behind our back. Sometimes there are people in our life, who only hang around us, when they need something. Pray for these folks.

God is a true friend…He is the best friend we could ever have. If you don’t know Him as your Lord, then He wants to be your friend. God always has a plan for you.

Everybody is dealing with something:

Don’t worry about alcohol. It leaves you drunk
Don’t worry about drugs, It leaves you senseless.
Evil leaves you heartless
Death leaves you lifeless.
But Jesus will never leave you, nor will He forsake you.

Where are you looking?

Look to the hills, from whence cometh your help.

Look to Jesus.

If you tell other people, they might gossip about your business, BUT if you tell Jesus about it…He will help you get if resolved.

Whatever you’ve done, wherever you are in life right now…Jesus is the Lord over every situation. Whatever has you stressed out or burdened down..Give it to Jesus. He is waiting for you to look to Him, and ask for His assistance.

There some things in life that will really try to break us down. You might feel that you can’t express how you’re feeling to anybody; on the phone, over text message, on Twitter, on SnapChat, on FB Messenger…But you can always call upon Jesus!

Sometimes we’ve gotta fall to our knees and say, ’ “Lord, I’m crying out to You. I need You to fix this situation, like only You can.”
It took a perfect God to save an imperfect people, in a crazy world like this.

Hebrews 12:2
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Have faith in God. He is willing and waiting to turn your life and your situation around for the better. Nobody can fix it like the One who created you. He knows our strengths and weaknesses. He’s got our blueprint.

What we must do is learn to trust God’s timing; and follow His lead. Some things that we want to do, it is not His timing.

When we jump ahead of God, we run the risk of messing things up.

Let’s offer to Him a life of service to His plan. This is what makes God proud of us.

Where are you looking? All that you need is found in Jesus.

If you are reading this and do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, I would like to extend this invitation to you to receive the gift of salvation today. You can do so by praying and truly believing the prayer below, or by praying to God in your own Words.

PRAYER:
God,
I confess that I have sinned against You, and I know that there is nothing I can do by my own efforts to change my condition. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood and died on the cross for my sins; And that He rose from the grave on the Third Day to grant me eternal life. I know You love me, God, and I love You. I place my faith and trust only in You to conform my heart to Your will; And to order my steps everyday, from this day forward. Thank You , Lord, for saving me.

    1. Ryan, May the Lord be with you every moment of every day this year. May you be bold; and fear nothing but our God.
May all your needs be met. May you and your family have the Grace of the Lord; and His Presence in your home.
He will enlarge you this year in ways you never thought possible! Stay open to Him, a willing vessel at all times.
      Bless you!
