The Battleground in Our Hearts

Though our souls long for God, our sinful natures rebel against His ways.

Part of us yearns for God and part of us reaches for fleshly desires.

Our hearts are a battleground of continual conflict. This inner struggle causes tension and excessive strain.

Without God we are, the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.( Isaiah 57:20)

There can be no peace until all of life, mind, body, and spirit are coordinated by the One who made us, and understands us. He is not only master of the world but knows your life and mine from the beginning to the end. The Lord Jesus Christ was thinking of us when He came into the world as a man.

Luke 1:79
To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”

As the Prince of Peace, He invites you to

Matthew 11:28
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

When you come to Him, you will find relief and relaxation in the freedom He gives. Your peace will be as a river (Isaiah 48:18).

An active, sparkling peace that is refreshing and strong, a peace that which surpasses all understanding, (Philippians 4P:7)

Will you come to Jesus, casting your burden upon Him? Jesus says

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Faith and trust are the antidotes for fear and anxiety. How restful it is to trust in the only God who is from everlasting to everlasting, to have a Friend who never changes, whose love never dies. This Friend is ever thinking of us, ever caring for us. So why worry and fret? Learn to do as we read in:
1 Peter 5:7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

There is peace when the battle is over, so why not surrender your life to the Lord? Remember, if you trust, you don’t worry, and if you worry, you don’t trust.

Isaiah 26:3
You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.

Resentment is a poison that also robs your peace of mind. It leads to discouragement and hopeless confusion. it is hard to forgive those who have done you an injustice, but you must if you wish to be forgiven.

Matthew 6:15
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

As faith is born in your heart, you are able to surrender your will. Instead of resentment and irritation, your heart is filled with love and mercy, and you experience an inner tranquility.

When Jesus is reigning in your heart, you will love your enemies. Only through Christ’s redeeming blood can this occur.

If you are reading this and do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, I would like to extend this invitation to you to receive the gift of salvation today. You can do so by praying and truly believing the prayer below, or by praying to God in your own Words.

PRAYER:
God,
I confess that I have sinned against You, and I know that there is nothing I can do by my own efforts to change my condition. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood and died on the cross for my sins; And that He rose from the grave on the Third Day to grant me eternal life. I know You love me, God, and I love You. I place my faith and trust only in You to conform my heart to Your will; And to order my steps everyday, from this day forward. Thank You , Lord, for saving me.
When we accept salvation, God saves us immediately, and makes us fit for entrance into Heaven, however some changes God will empower you to make easily, while making other changes will be a process that may take months or even years to make. Regardless of your situation, I assure you that the Lord loves you more than you could ever comprehend, and He will be with you every step of the way. Pray, study God’s Word and ask Him to give you revelation of what you are reading. I also pray that the Lord will direct you to a true Bible teaching, Jesus loving church, where you can have the support of other believers.
