The Foundation Of Sound Biblical Doctrine

I Corinthians 3:10-11
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

As a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, I am writing this post to you, the reader, because I desire to see all who desire to walk in harmony with God, do so.

The Word of God warns us in 1 Peter 5:8 to Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. The devil doesn’t stand a chance against a believer whose faith is founded in sound Biblical values and doctrine, HOWEVER those who walk in false teaching are in serious jeopardy of joining the Father of Lies in his future eternal punishment.

The Word of God warns us, in Matthew 24:24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

So how can we spot out what is truth from what is false?

Let me start by listing the principles/doctrine every Christian should be basing their beliefs upon:

• There is one God who manifests Himself as the Father, Son(Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26, Isaiah 43:10, Isaiah 44:6, John 1:1-3, I John 5:7)
• The God of the Bible crated the universe and everything in it. (Genesis Ch. 1&2, Romans 1:19-20)
• The Bible is God’s inerrant Word to mankind. (II Timothy 3:16-17)
• All of the writers of the Books of the Bible were inspired by the Holy Spirit, and any revelation we receive must lineup with what is written within God’s Word. (II Peter 1:20-21)
• God/Jesus is the ONLY ONE whom we should be worshipping. (Exodus 20:3-4, I John 5:21, Colossians 3:1-25)
• Sin causes mankind to be out of fellowship with God. (Romans 5:12-14, I John 3:4)
• Mankind CAN NOT merit Heaven by keeping the law or by doing good works. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
• Faith in Jesus Christ’s finished work at the cross is the ONLY WAY that a person can be saved, and have eternal life in God’s Heavenly kingdom. (John 3:16, John 14:6, Acts 4:10-12, II Corinthians 5:17-18)
• Jesus Christ is Israel’s prophesied Messiah. (Read every fulfilled prophesy here)
• At some point in the future Jesus Christ will return to punish Satan and the unsaved; And the Savior will reward those who have placed their faith in Him. (Matthew 25:31-46, I Corinthians 15:51-53, I Thessalonians 4:13-18, Daniel 12:1-3, Revelation 14:9-11, Revelation 19:11-21, RevelationCh. 20-22)

If we ever encounter someone who is teaching doctrine that is contrary to any of the items I’ve listed above, then that is a clear “red flag” that you and I are either dealing with a person who 1). Has been taught false doctrine, and needs to be corrected in Godly love OR 2). is a false teacher that is attempting to lead us and others away from the truth.

God loves you and I. Salvation is available to every person who truly wants it. The Holy Spirit will make His abode within the believer to lead and guide that person to all truth. God wants men and women to join His family, so that they will abide in the truth, and not fall prey to the devil.

It is a very sad thing when people are swindled out of their money by crafty false teachers. It is even sadder when people are drawn under the influence of cult leaders, which leads to these people’s deaths, as was the case of those who followed men like Jim Jones and David Koresh.

There are many people out there who will talk about believing in god and Jesus, however they very well may be concocting their own version of God and Jesus. For example, I encountered a man here on WP, a few weeks ago, who claimed to be a believer…yet he rejected the truth that a loving God would allow anyone to spend an eternity in torment. After talking with this guy further it was very obvious that he was preaching “another/false Jesus, as warned about in II Corinthians 11:3-4.

The only way to safeguard one’s self from being deceived and led into false teaching is to: First, receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior; And then the Holy Spirit will make His abode within your heart. Then, read God’s Word for yourself, and rely on the Holy Spirit to give you revelation of what you are reading. II Timothy 2:15
Instructs us to “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

When someone starts talking to you about the things of God, question them about their beliefs on the things I listed in the earlier bulletpoints, and pay close attention to the fruits that their life is baring. If their beliefs and their actions don’t lineup with sound Biblical doctrine then you must be on alert. As I mentioned about the cults earlier, there may be certain situations when you will need to get as far away from these false teachers as you possibly can…because your life may very well depend on you doing so.

Now, there is room for discussion between believers on the subject of things like: Did God create the earth in six literal days or was it over a longer period of time?, should Christians partake in alcohol?, Can women preach?, Should we observe the Sabbath on Saturday or Sunday?, Can a person lose their salvation?, Is the Rapture pre-Trib, Mid-Trib, or Post-Trib?, etc…

Even on the items above, we need to be able to provide scriptures in their proper context for our stance. God will never condone anything that does not lineup with His written Word; And for our own eternal security and anyone else we have influence on, we must not condone unbiblical practices either. Woe to the person who twists scripture for their own worldly purposes.(Galatians 1:7-10)

I want to encourage you, the reader, to always trust God to reveal what He wants you to know according to His Word; And do not waver in your faith. Keep your eyes on Him. He will lead, guide and direct you, me and all of His children.

John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

May we honor our Heavenly Father by knowing the truth.

For those of us who are “born again” believers, may our character always exemplify Christ’s likeness for all the world to see.

Dear Heavenly Father, May we be so firmly planted in Your word that we would not fall prey to the deceiver, no matter how he might try to gloss it up on the outside. Help us to see the truth. Give us eyes to discern, for the time we live in, and for each situation we are faced with.

If you are reading this and do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, I would like to extend this invitation to you to receive the gift of salvation today. You can do so by praying and truly believing the prayer below, or by praying to God in your own Words.

PRAYER:

God,
I confess that I have sinned against You, and I know that there is nothing I can do by my own efforts to change my condition. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood and died on the cross for my sins; And that He rose from the grave on the Third Day to grant me eternal life. I know You love me, God, and I love You. I place my faith and trust only in You to conform my heart to Your will; And to order my steps everyday, from this day forward. Thank You , Lord, for saving me.

  1. This kind of topic is hardly dealt with nowadays.

So very true, to always provide Scripture with what we say to be true. Because people have to read God’s Word. the Bible for themselves. That way they know that it does not come form us. And that is how we recognize true pastors, church leaders, and those who want to share the Gospel

Lord Jesus says Himself says “Search the Scriptures” in John 5:39.

    1. My heart breaks for all of the people who have been hurt: spiritually, physically, mentally, and financially by false teaching.

False teaching is only going to increase. I sincerely pray that this post will help everyone who reads it, so that they won’t be led down the wrong road.

      1. My brother Marques. I would like you to be aware of Jackie2015 that she is a false believer. Here is what she said “In the New Testament: Lord Jesus was NOT a Jew.”

        If you go to… https://modconspiracy.wordpress.com/2020/11/17/colorful-appearances/

…You will find more quotes that are unbiblical from Jackie’s post. My brother, please look into it because she can deceive your readers. You can approve this or not, I will leave it up to you but you need to really read her stuff because it is poisonous.

    2. Ms. Jackie, I do realize it has been a few weeks since you conversed with SpaniardVIII and Caeli, the author of the link that SpaniardVIII provided.

Ms. Jackie, has your doctrine changed since that time, or do you still hold to the belief that Jesus was not a Jew? Because, I can assure you, based upon scripture, that He is indeed a Jew. ?

I speak to you out of Christian love and a desire that you examine this belief. SpaniardVIII, Caeli, and I care about you and don’t want you to follow a “false” Jesus, or cause the readers on your site to follow a “false” Jesus.

Ms. Jackie, please read Caeli’s post at the link SpaniardVIII provided; And also read the Messianic Prophecies at the link that I provided in the bulletpoints of my post from today about Jesus being Israel’s Messiah.

    1. Yeah, many people do want to customize the truth to suit their own personal desires, but they fail to consider their own eternal destiny and the eternal destiny of those whom they have influence over. The world’s ideology is being modified day-by-day, so that people will readily accept the lies of the Antichrist and False Prophet when they arrive on the scene.

If this post helps just one person to become a student and doer of God’s Word, so that their faith and trust will be built on a solid foundation, then I will be grateful.

  2. Marques, your Blog continues to be a true blessing to my fiancee and I. May Heaven continue to shine upon you.

I have a strong feeling that many people may find themselves having to refer to your Post-Rapture Guide very soon.

    1. Thanks, DaMonika. I’m grateful that you and Rodney are growing spiritually.

Yep, we see the signs of the times. The one world government is taking shape, and deception is growing. Prayerfully, people will find their way to my Post-Rapture Guide. I don’t intend on being around to find out who read it though. I’ve place my faith and trust in Jesus, the lover of my soul; And when He comes for His church, I look forward to going back with Him.
