How Do You Stand In Your Relationship With Jesus Christ?

This is a message by one of my friends, Pastor Keith Lee.

John 3:16-17
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

This demonstrates just how much God loves mankind; That He would allow His Son, Jesus, to die a brutal death on the cross, for the sins of the world.

If you are wondering if God still speaks, the answer is “Yes.” God is concerned about the wellbeing of each and every man, woman, and child; And because He is so full of love for each of us, God’s deepest desire is that we would receive the gift of salvation.

The question each of us must ask our self is: “How do we stand, in relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ?”

As we read in John 3:17, Jesus is not in the business of condemning mankind, but instead He is in the business of loving mankind to the extent that He was willing to lay down His own life, so that we could have life and life more abundantly.

John 15:13
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Furthermore, II Corinthians 8:9 says, “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” What great love Jesus displayed for us.

You might be asking, “Rich how?”

The answer: Rich in the grace and love of our Heavenly Father God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

We cannot hide from God, because He is everywhere; And because He is everywhere, God sees everything, and He knows everything.

Now Romans 5:12 lets us know that, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” In other words, because Adam chose to disobey God, by eating from the Tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil, Adam passed down the spirit of disobedience(sin nature) to all of mankind.

So You and I inherited the sin nature to: lie, steal, cheat, and connive. But thanks be to God that Jesus gave His life.

It was by one man(Adam) that sin entered the world, and it was by one man(Jesus) that we can get clarity to comeback to God. Jesus freed us from what Adam brought upon us.

Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

While we were doing what we wanted to do, When we wanted to do it, How we wanted to do it…God still loved us, because Scripture tells us that He allows it to rain upon the just and the unjust.

So it is not God’s desire that any of us should perish, but instead God desires that we have eternal life. This is the whole reason that Jesus was resurrected. Jesus is alive and well; And He is near to each and everyone of us

Romans 6:23 tells us that, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” The gift that God gave to mankind is His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus’ mission was to reconcile us back to God.

Wages as we know it, is the payment we expect to receive for conducting our job responsibilities. The bible lets us know that the payment for us choosing to live in sin without receiving Christ, will be death. This is eternal separation from God, in a place called Hell. However, when we choose to receive Jesus as our Savior, our wages will be eternal life in the presence of our loving Heavenly Father.

Now, each of us has a place within us that desires to know the truth, and when we come to the point in our life where we say, “I’m tired of living the way I’ve been living. I want to make a change.” The change that we need to make is simple repentance, and this means you admit that you are tired of living in sin and you want to set your heart and mind on trusting in Jesus to lead and guide you.

The best decision any person can ever make is to place their faith and trust in Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:9-10
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

This is basically saying that all you need to do is confess that Jesus is Lord. And believe with your heart(human spirit), which means you invite God’s Spirit to live within you to encourage, comfort, admonish, and grant you with Godly wisdom. When Christ comes to abide in us, we don’t want to resort to our old sinful ways. Though as we grow, we may still make some bad decisions, but we will feel remorse when we err, and we will ask God to help us to learn and grow and overcome each shortcoming.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Be encouraged, and know that God loves you and is concerned about you. None of us have done anything bad enough to miss out on eternal life. All we need to do is decide we are ready for a change, and accept Christ into our heart.

If you are reading this and do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, I would like to extend this invitation to you to receive the gift of salvation today. You can do so by praying and truly believing the prayer below, or by praying to God in your own Words.

I confess that I have sinned against You, and I know that there is nothing I can do by my own efforts to change my condition. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood and died on the cross for my sins; And that He rose from the grave on the Third Day to grant me eternal life. I know You love me, God, and I love You. I place my faith and trust only in You to conform my heart to Your will; And to order my steps everyday, from this day forward. Thank You , Lord, for saving me.

When we accept salvation, God saves us immediately, and makes us fit for entrance into Heaven, however some changes God will empower you to make easily, while making other changes will be a process that may take months or even years to make. Regardless of your situation, I assure you that the Lord loves you more than you could ever comprehend, and He will be with you every step of the way. Pray, study God’s Word and ask Him to give you revelation of what you are reading. I also pray that the Lord will direct you to a true Bible teaching, Jesus loving church, where you can have the support of other believers.
