The Truth, We Are Overcomers Part 1

Today, as believers, we are overcomers.

Why are we overcomers? Because, of Christ’s finished work at the cross; And Jesus has told us of the promises that He has left for us..and being an overcomer is one of His promises in the Word of God. So all we need to do is take God at His word.

We are overcomers, despite how we may feel, and despite what the present situations/circumstances may look like.

Scripture tells us that if we will believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ, we shall be saved. So the key is to believe what Christ has already done, however sometimes it seems that it is difficult for many of us to receive this truth.

If someone gives us a gift, many of us will be quick to respond with a, “Thank You.” Then on the other hand, there are others of us that may be reluctant to say anything, and will question why the giver has given us the gift.

Whenever someone gives us something, let’s receive it with thanksgiving, because believe it or not, God has touched the heart of that individual to be a blessing to us.

This world can be a tough place, when we are out of place.

God has designed things for us to be reconnected back to Him; And when we are not connected to Christ, as we should be connected, it will always bring about confusion.

When people aren’t connected properly, they may say things like, “I just don’t think I can make it.” But, with a strong connection, we are able to hear Jesus reminding us that, “We can do all things through Him, because He is our strength.

Once we get saved, we are at war, because the Evil One does not want the believer to receive or accept what Christ has done for us. ”

In John 16:33, Jesus said, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

Jesus is letting us know that even in the midst of this world’s chaos, we can still smile and be encouraged, because He has overcome the world…And because His Holy Spirit now resides within we who are saved, we have overcome as well.

We are overcomers, because God has decreed it. It is an established fact.

All an individual has to do is: Believe, Receive, and Act upon it. Act upon what? Act upon what the Word of God says.

Be advised that when you begin to act upon the Word of God, the opposition will come. The devil will bring thoughts of negativity to try to destroy your faith in God…But You and I are not going to listen to the devil’s lies. Instead, we are going to stand on and believe what God has said in His Word.

It is all about what Christ has done for us. It’s not by might, nor by power, but it’s by God’s Spirit. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead, resides in every person who has accepted salvation.

It is not God’s will to see us defeated by a problem or discouraged by an obstacle.

God desires that we choose life, and activate His gifts. God’s gifts are activated when we choose to accept salvation. But, don’t stop there. If we’ve got the faith to believe that Christ has saved us, let’s believe by faith that we are overcomers, and that God can use us to accomplish great and mighty things for His glory.

Things that may seem impossible are possible with our Heavenly Father. When faced with impossible odds, dare to overcome. When faith seems lost, dare to overcome. Pray to God, and ask Him for help. Search the scriptures, and find out what the Bible says concerning your situation; And allow God’s Word to guide your thoughts and actions. By doing this, you are stepping into your identity as an overcomer.

If you are reading this and do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, I would like to extend this invitation to you to receive the gift of salvation today. You can do so by praying and truly believing the prayer below, or by praying to God in your own Words.

PRAYER:
God,
I confess that I have sinned against You, and I know that there is nothing I can do by my own efforts to change my condition. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood and died on the cross for my sins; And that He rose from the grave on the Third Day to grant me eternal life. I know You love me, God, and I love You. I place my faith and trust only in You to conform my heart to Your will; And to order my steps everyday, from this day forward. Thank You , Lord, for saving me.

  1. About the smealing part, I found this presentation last week. Is this guy implying that we should not smile?

    1. Hi, Maia

I’m not familiar with the man on this video. If he is trying to say that Christians should never smile or laugh, the doctrine he’s teaching is not biblical.

Now, I will admit that there is a growing issue in many of today’s churches, where the preachers are spending more time telling jokes than they are actually preaching sound biblical teaching that will reach the lost.

There is a time and place for everything. While there are times where we must be serious, every “born again” believer must exhibit the joy of the Lord in our daily walk. We’ll never draw any unbelievers to Christ, if we’re always moping around with sour faces and dry personalities.

See the link below for Scriptures about smiling/laughter:
