The Positive Side of the Judgment of the Lost and Saved.
The Judgment Seat of Christ.
II Corinthians 5:10-11
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
Be Reconciled to God
II Corinthians 5:12-15
12 For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.
13 For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.
14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
The Bible clearly teaches there will be a day of accounting for every man and woman.
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
The Bible’s message of judgment is not popular today, and many denominations and churches never preach on the subject. They fail to understand that God’s negative message of a coming judgment for us all, is in fact presenting the positive message of God’s Grace and Mercy.
Every time in the Bible God tells of his wrath and judgment on sin, it is always accompanied with the positive message of God’s forgiveness to those who heed His warning and turn from their sin.
God says, in 2 Peter 3:9 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
The negative message of judgment is a loving warning to all mankind and a positive message of possible forgiveness and redemption. That is why God warns us of the coming judgment because He wants us to be forgiven and avoid condemnation. God gives every man and woman a choice as to whether he/she will spend eternity in heaven or hell.
God’s love is shown in that the way to heaven is impossible for man/woman to earn or merit because he/she is a sinner and because of his/her sin under the condemnation of sin. God himself came to this earth incarnate in man, the man Jesus Christ and He suffered and died for our sins. He paid the debt we could not pay and offers SALVATION which means forgiveness of sins and eternal life to all who will by faith believe and receive it. He did for us what we could not do for ourselves.
The Bible tells us of two judgments:
The Judgment of the lost: Revelation 20:11-15. It is called the “Great White Throne Judgment.”
The Judgment of the saved: 1 Corinthians 3:10-23, 2 Corinthians 5:10-11. It is called the BEMA judgment, which is the Greek word for :Judgment Seat.”
It refers to the Greek Olymic and the place where rewards were given. There be at the end of the competition a giving of rewards. Three rewards would be given.
1st place for the best athlete, 2nd and 3rd rewards for those that came in the next two places. It was not a place of condemnation, but only a place of where rewards were given. God’s judgment of Christians is the same. No one at this judgment will be condemned because they are forgiven of their sins and saved, but here all will be judged accounting to their works for Christ. As apostle Paul put it we will be judged according to how we ran the race of this Christian life.
While there is yet breath in your body, you can receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. He is listening for your call. You can pray to Him in your own words, or by praying and truly believing the prayer below:
PRAYER OF SALVATION:
I confess that I have sinned against You, and I know that there is nothing I can do by my own efforts to change my condition. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood and died on the cross for my sins; And that He rose from the grave on the Third Day to grant me eternal life. I know You love me, God, and I love You. I place my faith and trust only in You to conform my heart to Your will; And to order my steps everyday, from this day forward. Thank You , Lord, for saving me.
When we accept salvation, God saves us immediately, and makes us fit for entrance into Heaven, however some changes God will empower you to make easily, while making other changes will be a process that may take months or even years to make. Regardless of your situation, I assure you that the Lord loves you more than you could ever comprehend, and He will be with you every step of the way. Pray, study God’s Word and ask Him to give you revelation of what you are reading. I also pray that the Lord will direct you to a true Bible teaching, Jesus loving church, where you can have the support of other believers.
