Folks, many of us were raised during the civil rights era and under the conception that our world is filled with many races of people. We were taught (and some still teach, their children and grandchildren) that there were (are) differences between the whites, the blacks, the Asians’, the Mexicans, the Puerto Rican, the Indians’ etc. Some were (and still are) taught to hate those of a different race.
If you honestly read the pages of the Scriptures, it will be clearly seen that there is but one race of people on this planet we call earth. That race is the human race! Regardless of our skin color, or ethnic background, we are all just human beings.
Acts 17:26 And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth.
Within the human race, there are two kinds of people. According to the Bible, a person is either saved or he/she is lost. There are only the saints and the ain’ts.
As you read this post, you are a member of the human race, of that there is no question. Where we stand today in regard to salvation is what marks the real difference between some of us today. Regardless of our ethnic background, one day, all that will matter is whether we are “SAINTS” or “AIN’TS”.
Which are you?
Saints-We share A Common Salvation-Jude 3 speaks of what the saints have experienced as a “common salvation”.
A. We all experienced the New Birth, John 3:3, 7.
John 3:3 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot enter the kingdom of God
John 3:7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’
B. We share A Common Sovereign-We are all saved by faith in “the Lord Jesus Christ.”
C. We share A Common Struggle-This struggle is what Paul is dealing with in the Scriptures this morning. Paul writes to the Corinthian church. He is writing to a group of saved people. 1 Cor 3:1-4.
In this Scripture he calls them “carnal. This is a word that means “that which pertains to the flesh, or the physical appetites.” Paul is telling the Corinthian believers that at this point in their lives, they are carnal. They are living lives that are controlled by the appetites of the flesh.
1 Corinthians 3:1-4
1) And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ.
(2) I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able;
(3) for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?
(4) For when one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not carnal?
A. They share a Common Description’ Those who do not know the Lord “NATURAL” men. That is, they are men and women who are exactly the same as they were when they were born into the world. This kind of men and women are also called “LOST”, Luke 19:10; 2 Cor.4:3 and “Sinner” Roman 5:8; 1 Tim 1:15.
B. They share a Common Denomination-Paul tells us that these natural men and women do not grasp spiritual things. They are not capable of doing so because they do not possess the Spirit of God.
C. They share a Common Destination The Bible states the natural man is headed to a place called Hell, where he will spend eternity in torment.
In conclusion, I am convinced that you are in the human race. That much is given. But are you a saint or an ain’t?
Have you been saved by grace? I say, are you walking in spiritual victory?
If you do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, I would like to extend this invitation to you to receive the gift of salvation today. You can so by praying and truly believing the prayer below, or by praying to God in your own Words.
I confess that I have sinned against You, and I know that there is nothing I can do by my own efforts to change my condition. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood and died on the cross for my sins; And that He rose from the grave on the Third Day to grant me eternal life. I know You love me, God, and I love You. I place my faith and trust only in You to conform my heart to Your will; And to order my steps everyday, from this day forward. Thank You , Lord, for saving me.
When we accept salvation, God saves us immediately, and makes us fit for entrance into Heaven, however some changes God will empower you to make easily, while making other changes will be a process that may take months or even years to make. Regardless of your situation, I assure you that the Lord loves you more than you could ever comprehend, and He will be with you every step of the way. Pray, study God’s Word and ask Him to give you revelation of what you are reading. I also pray that the Lord will direct you to a true Bible teaching, Jesus loving church, where you can have the support of other believers.
