Till Debt Do Us Part: It’s Spending Time

Married or single, according to a Time Magazine survey, the #1 source of arguments in marriage and relationships is conflict over money. Gallup report , 70% of divorces are due to financial problems and pressures. These pressures always occur when we ignore God’s 5 Financial Laws during the Christmas season.

We are trying our hardest to make others (wives, husband(s) ,children(s) parents, grand parents, in-laws and friends” HAPPY!” Self and appeasing others is not the reason for the Christmas season. “Christmas is to celebrate the Birth of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

After Christmas, Financial Problems always occur because we ignored God’s 5 Financial Laws.

RULE 1 KEEP GOOD RECORDS -The Principle of Accounting
Proverbs 27:23-24
23 Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.
24 For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure to every generation?

Proverbs 23:23
Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

Proverbs 24:3-4
3 Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:
4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.________________________________________________________________

RULE 2 PLAN YOUR SPENDING -The Principle of Planning.
Proverbs 21:5
The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.

There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.

RULE 3 ENJOY WHAT YOU HAVE -The Principle of Contentment
Proverbs 15:6-7
6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.

Better is a dry morsel with quietness, than a house full of strife.

RULE 4 SHARE WITH OTHERS IN NEED -The Principle of Sharing.
Proverbs 11:24-25
24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.
25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.

He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse._______________________________________________________________

RULE 5 CELEBRATE THE BIRTH OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR “FIRST.” Don’t spend what we don’t have and haven’t earned.
