Exodus 18:21
Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:”
It is impossible to be a leader without being a man or woman of truth. It does not matter how many people are stepping in line behind you or tracing your footsteps – even if there are nations.
Hear me well, if your guidance is not coming from a seat of truth within you: You are a deceiver; Just as Lucifer was when he seduced a third of the angels to follow him in his rebellion.
We must be followers of Jesus, who is Truth, as recorded in John 14:6. Great followers of Jesus make great leaders regardless of their position, occupation, status, level, title, education, or what they have in the bank.
Leadership is a matter of character not charisma. The best leadership style is by being a doer of what you tell others. We call it “leading by example.” If I am honest and trustworthy and you follow me; then you will be honest and trustworthy.
Apostle Paul said it like this in 1 Corinthians 11:1, follow me as I follow Christ.
Sadly there are many followers of “leaders” who are not true; they are deceivers. The Bible calls them blind leaders of the blind. They are not leading to Jesus who is the Truth.

Very true, Oneta. We see many examples of corrupt leadership in the Bible(ex. The Pharisees) and even in our society of today(ex. preachers who preach financial prosperity ahead of sincereity to obedience to God)
The Word of God tells us to study the Word for ourselves, so that when someone does tell us something, we can rightly discern what is true from what is false.

Excellent words about leadership! I could not have said it better myself.
