The Four Corrections Adversity Compels Us To Make

Brothers and Sisters, there are times in our lives we need to make course corrections in order to arrive safely and soundly at our next SPIRITUAL destination point and ultimately to heaven.

Adversity may be the detour, storm, or obstacle that compels us to make such corrections. The Lord requires His beloved children to make changes in at least four areas.

1. Conquer pride and humble ourselves to the Lord’s will.
2. Come to the place where we hate sin and purge ourselves of evil.
3. Sift our friendships so that they are keeping with God’s plan for our lives.
4. Adjust our priorities so that we place higher value on the things of God and in turn adopt new habits of behavior based on right priorities.

Sometimes pride, sin, harmful relationships, and wrong priorities are so deeply embedded within us that we can hardly recognize them in ourselves. This is a dangerous blindness.

Reading the Bible daily is to encounter repeatedly God’s directives and desires for our lives. Anytime You and I read the Bible, we should say “SHOW ME, Lord, how this affects my life.” or “REVEAL TO ME, Lord how I need to change my life in order to conform to Your commandments and Your will.

God’s use of adversity to bring about midcourse corrections in our lives, You and I need to recognize anew that the Lord corrects us because He loves us.

Proverbs 3:12 For whom the Lord loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights. Please read Hebrews 12:7-10.

The reason the Lord corrects us is so that You and I may be fruitful.

John 15:1-8 I am the true vine and My Father is the vinedresser. (2) Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. (3) You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. (4) Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. (5) I am the vine you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. (6) If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. (7) If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. (8) By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

Accept Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, today. Today is the day of salvation. Now is the accepted time. You may not really have tomorrow. Salvation is a free gift. Have a Blessed Day.
