Hold Up The Light

John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

I come to you, my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, to encourage all of you to hold up the light that is within you.

We are the lightposts, commanded by Jesus Christ to hold up the light of Christ that resides within each of us.

For the men and women who find themselves lost in the raging sea of sin. For those who thought they were the captains of their own ship, only to realize that the evil one has cast a dark shadow of hopelessness over their life, It is the Light of Jesus Christ that shines through the true born again believers that lets people know that all hope is not lost.

While all of us aren’t gifted with melodious voices to sing; And while all of us aren’t called to preach from behind a pulpit, The Lord has equipped each believer with gifts, talents, and a commission to share the Gospel with the lost.

In the body of Christ, no job is too small or insignificant.

When we see our world becoming ever more chaotic, and we ourselves encounter persecution for living out our faith, the adversary would have us believe that our efforts are in vain, but Satan is a liar!

Whether God has called us to; preach from a pulpit, speak on Youtube, Blog on WordPress, post encouraging words on Social Media, pass out Christian tracs in our community, or just be an encourager & Godly advisor for our family, friends, and coworkers; God has promised that whatever we do by His leading will not be in vain. Many times we are only planting a seed, and it is God who always gives the increase.(I Corinthians 3:6-9)

Isaiah 55:11
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

The Keys to Success:
1. Repentance of our sins, and Acceptance of Jesus Christ as our personal Savior
2. Daily studying of the Word of God, to feed our spirit and learn of God’s character
3. Daily prayer, in which we honestly bring our requests and concerns to God, AND LISTEN AND TAKE HEED TO HIS INSTRUCTIONS.
4. Guarding our hearts and minds from immoral things that will draw us away from serving God.
5. Fellowship with other believers to encourage one another, and hold each other accountable for doing the will of God.

I Corinthians 4:1-6
1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Heavenly Father,

We look to You as the source of every good and perfect thing. We thank You for sending Your only begotten Son to redeem us: And for sending Your Holy Spirit to dwell within us. Our reliance is in You alone to accomplish Your perfect will in our life. Shine through us, Lord Jesus. Draw lost men and women unto Yourself. We are Your willing servants, Lord, and we desire that You would be glorified throughout the earth. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!

I am determined to Hold Up the Light. Will you join me?

  1. Good morning my brother, excellent post, I really liked what you said here, “Whether God has called us to; preach from a pulpit, speak on Youtube, Blog on WordPress, post encouraging words on Social Media, pass out Christian tracs in our community, or just be an encourager & Godly advisor for our family, friends, and coworkers; God has promised that whatever we do by His leading will not be in vain. The truth is that wherever God puts you regardless of the place that is your ministry. Your words are encouraging Marques, keep up the good work.
