10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
As many of us would attest, if you are a professing Christian, or even if you’re an unbeliever with a special calling on your life; the Evil One will come at you twice as hard.
Satan is not threatened by anyone’s last name, college degree, muscular physique or street smarts. He has one agenda, and that is to deceive and discourage every man and woman from having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; and therefore sharing in the Evil One’s eternal fate.
One of the biggest hindrances to many people coming to know Christ is the misrepresentation of Christianity over the centuries, by religious leaders, who attached man-made laws that have nothing to do with salvation; And who have distorted God’s Word to justify various heinous atrocities.
The God of the Bible is the Creator of every person; and He has given each of us the free will to either; accept forgiveness for our sins, by accepting Christ OR attempt to live our life to gratify ourselves.
Every person who dies, is a warning for each of us to examine our life and consider where we want to spend eternity. The best place to start is by asking ourselves if our current way of life is bringing us inner peace and contentment? Are we truly positive role models for our youth and our peers? If we had to stand before God to give an account for our life, what would He say?
I encourage everyone who reads this to seriously ponder your life. Both Heaven and Hell will house people from every social status, nationality, and background.
Regardless of what you may have done or said, in the past, God loves you and wants you to be filled with His love, wisdom, power, grace, and peace.
If you would like to make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, I invite you to pray the prayer below:
Prayer of Salvation:
God, I come to you, confessing that I am a sinner.
I Repent of all my wrongdoings, and I ask for your forgiveness.
I now confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, died for my sins, and rose again for my justification.
I invite Jesus to; come into my heart, clean up my life, and guide my decisions from this day forward.
And now Lord, I thank You for saving me, and giving me a fresh start.
If you prayed this prayer, and meant it from your heart, then you are now a part of God’s family. Your name has been written in the Book of Life, and therefore when your mortal life ends you will live forever with Jesus Christ, and every other person who has sincerely placed their trust in Him.
Begin studying God’s Word. A great place to start is to read the Gospel of John, then Matthew, then Romans, then Acts. This will give you a foundation of the teachings of Jesus and how He desires that we successfully navigate this mortal life.
I will encourage you to also find a good church home, where the true Word of God is being preached. Always remember that your salvation is not based on politicking with church leaders, how well you dress, how well you sing, how much money you put in the offering pan, etc… Your salvation is built upon your acceptance of Jesus as your personal Savior, and your commitment to growing to know Him more and more each day, through prayer, studying the Bible, and interacting with other “born again” Christians, who sincerely encourage you to grow spiritually.
