Throughout history, our world has witnessed the rise of such charismatic leaders as: Julius Caesar, Hannibal, John F. Kennedy, Joseph Stalin, Adolf Hitler, Ronald Reagan, and our current U.S. President, Barack Obama. The Bible reveals to us there is a future world leader who will rise to power, whose charisma, wealth, and influence will surpass all who have come before him. The Bible refers to him by many names: The Beast, man of sin, son of perdition, but ultimately he will be known as the Antichrist.
My Post Rapture Guide makes mention of the actions of this sinister world leader, however we’re going to take a closer look at what the Bible tells us about him, and I’ll give a few of my personal thoughts as well.
Many people have speculated as to who they believe he is, however the Bible makes it clear that his identity will not be made known to the world until after Jesus Christ has Raptured those who have faithfully placed their trust in Him for their salvation. This is probably because based on what the Bible says about the Antichrist, any born again believer would be able to quickly identify him immediately. This does not mean that he is not currently alive right now, being groomed by Satan and his earthly followers to ascend onto the world scene.
So let’s take a look at what the Bible says about the man of sin.
At some point shortly after the Rapture, a very intelligent, handsome, and charismatic man will burst onto the world scene. He will begin with a message of peace, unity, and brotherhood to everyone across the globe. He will have solutions to all of the social and economic issues that have plagued mankind, such as: ending world hunger, resolving racial injustice, implementing a one world monetary system, and getting countries, who have warred against one another for centuries, to put their differences aside.
The Antichrist’s first major claim to fame will be brokering a seven year peace accord between the nation of Israel and her Arab neighbors. What we know about this treaty is that: The Antichrist will promise Israel safety from her enemies, and Israel will be allowed to rebuilt the Temple and re-establish the daily animal sacrifices outlined in the Old Testament. The signing of this peace treaty will officially begin the seven year Tribulation Period (Read Daniel 7).
1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.
24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
As you can imagine, accomplishing peace in the Middle East, will no doubt earn the Antichrist a Nobel Peace Prize, among many other accolades. This man will be sought after by every media outlet. I can imagine him making appearances on such programs as: 60 Minutes, 20/20, and Oprah Winfrey’s Master Class.
Though I suspect that the Antichrist may initially display great humility at the attention he is receiving, the Bible reveals that he will mock and say insulting things about God/Jesus Christ (Read II Thessalonians 2:3-10).
At around the 3 ½ year mark of the seven year peace treaty, Revelation tells us that the Antichrist will sustain a blow to his head, and appear to be dead. This could be either a staged assassination attempt on the Antichrist’s part, or a renegade faction may attempt to kill him. In any event, Satan will use this occasion to attempt to counterfeit the resurrection of Jesus Christ, by possessing the body of the Antichrist and making it appear that the world leader has risen from the dead.
This is where the Antichrist’s true demeanor will come to the light. He will declare himself as god, and demand that everyone on earth worship him. To assist him, The Antichrist will use the powers of Satan to grant supernatural abilities to a religious leader the Bible refers to as the False prophet. The False Prophet will establish a one world religion to worship the Antichrist. Both the Antichrist and False Prophet will be able to perform such supernatural feats as calling down fire from the sky to slay their enemies.
2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
The Antichrist will enter the Jewish Temple, declare himself as god, and defile the temple. Of course, the Jews and those who become :”born again” Christians, will refuse to worship this evil ruler, and so the man of sin will turn his wrath on all followers of Christ, which will result in thousands of Christians being hunted down and killed. In fact, this man will be responsible for more death, than anyone person in human history.
During the last 3 ½ years, the Antichrist and False prophet will demand that everyone receive a loyalty marker on their right hand or on their forehead, referred to as the “Mark of the Beast”. Anyone who does not receive this marker will not be able to legally buy, sell, are work. Taking this mark will be an eternal decision. If you receive the mark you WILL NOT be able to receive salvation afterwards, and will therefore ensure your fate in Hell. Rejecting the mark, will make you an outlaw or social outcast, and will result in you being beheaded if captured, however if you place your trust in Jesus Christ, earthly death will only be the beginning of eternal life in the family of God.
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
As the seven year period draws to a close, the Antichrist will turn his full rage towards Israel for refusing to worship him. He will built a large army, and launch an attack against Israel in an attempt to annihilate the nation. This is the Battle of Armageddon. I can only imagine the 24hr. coverage this will receive on CNN, however things aren’t going to go the way the Antichrist plans.
So imagine this; The Antichrist has been bragging for weeks about his fighting force, and how easily they will destroy Israel…he has even gone so far as to dare Israel’s God to intervene on their behalf. So with the world watching on every major television network and streaming this over the Internet, the Antichrist’s forces are advancing on Israel, when the sky goes black, stars begin to fall, and moments later the sky parts like a curtain…and atop a white horse sits Jesus Christ, with the armies of Heaven behind Him.
This is the Second Coming of Christ that we Christians have been talking about over the centuries. Jesus Christ will single-handedly defeat the Antichrist’s army. The Antichrist and False prophet will be captured, and cast alive into the lake of fire and brimstone to be tormented for all of eternity (Read Revelation 19:11-21).
If you are reading this post prior to the Rapture, know that it is not God’s will that you face the deceptions and eventual wrath of the Antichrist and his new world order In Revelation 3:10, Jesus personally promises to keep those who place their trust in Him, from the Antichrist and his demonic schemes. If you are saved, continue on in the faith, and warn your unsaved family, friends, and even your enemies that now is the accepted time to accept salvation. Jesus Christ is coming soon to rapture those of us who are ready, and afterwards the Antichrist will begin his ascension onto the world scene. If you are reading this after the Rapture has occurred, I can’t imagine what distress you are feeling and/or witnessing around you, however you must not believe whatever lies are being shared. The Antichrist will be very eloquent and clever, but you must not believe his lies. Place your trust in Jesus Christ, and ask him to forgive your sins. Please also, take a look at my Post Rapture Guide for a breakdown of what to expect in the coming years. Serving Christ may cost you your mortal life, however if you are willing to die for Christ you will reign with him during His earthly Millennial Kingdom, and attain eternal life in God’s eternal kingdom.
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
